The Ultimate COVID Movie Night Snack Platter

Let me guess. You are trying to eat a little healthier since you want to look your fittest best on New Years and you've perhaps put chips and desserts on hold for a while, but you still want something good to snack on in front of a movie this weekend? Well, we’ve got you covered.

Good news, fellow film fanatics. Tenet, one of the most anticipated movies released in 2020, directed by mastermind, Christopher Nolan is now available to stream in the comfort and safety of your own homes. Watch this movie while munching on some healthy amazing snack options we have put together.

We have created a snack platter that leaves nothing behind and that you can toss together in under 20 minutes. Fresh fruits, breads, nuts, veggie sticks, dark chocolate, nut butter truffles and P&Z's signature jams and nut butters. Sounds good? It is!

Recipe :

Ingredients

Nut Butter Balls

15 soft dates, pitted
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp P&Z's Espresso Cacao Nib Almond Peanut Butter
50 g OR 1/2 cup rolled oats
3 tbsp desiccated coconut
3 tbsp raw cacao powder
1/16 tsp sea salt

For rolling
4 tbsp finely chopped hazelnuts OR chia seeds OR desiccated coconut OR cacao nibs OR rose petals

Snack Platter Elements

1 carrot and 1 apple peeled and cut into sticks
1/2 cup dried apricots
1 cup P&Z Plum Raspberry Rosemary Preserve
Assorted cheese - brie, chilli gouda, edam, camembert
1/4 cup honey
1 cup P&Z Spiced Pecan Orange Nut Butter
2 Oranges, peeled and sliced
1 cup mixed berries (strawberries / blueberries / cherries)

1 cup green olives pitted
Bread loaf and bread sticks of your choice
A handful nuts and raisins of choice - cashews, almonds, pistachio, green raisins, pecans
A pack of healthy crackers

80 g / 3 oz dark chocolate, broken into large bits
Nut butter balls (see recipe above)

Preparation

All the fruits and nuts on the platter are just suggestions, you can of course add anything you wish. We do like the mix of nut butter truffles, crunchy carrots, crispy apple, nuts, crackers, cheese, dark chocolate (super delicious to dip in the nut butter) and a citrus fruit.

Add the ingredients to a food processor and mix until everything comes together into a sticky dough. Roll 20-25 small balls between the palms of your hand. Cover them in chopped hazelnuts or coconut. If it doesn’t stick, you can dip each ball in cold water before covering them with the nuts. Store in the fridge while preparing the other snack platter ingredients.
